Located in a narrow but longish unit that gets light only from the ends, the challenge of the design is to allow the deep spaces to feel bright and comfortable. The design is a layered space with full height glass and curtains to create the necessary privacy for the different areas, while allowing light to penetrate deep into the spaces. Party walls are lined with storage shelves to accommodate and display the vast library of books, trade catalogues and material samples typically required in a design office. The monochromatic interiors has white painted walls and white epoxy floors to create a sense of lightness, with natural unfinished exposed concrete ceiling and natural white oak flooring adding a sense of texture and materiality. Generous amounts of illumination is provided by track mounted spotlights for all the working spaces. Black is used a counterpoint for the white interiors. The beautiful matt black "FENIX" laminates is used for the facade as well as meeting tabletop. Black framed glass, black switches, black furniture pieces add accents to the otherwise white blank canvas interiors. A gently curved wall greets visitors and leads them into the space, with the company logo subtly debossed into it.
